Lana Lawson
News Reporter

Hello!
I am Lana Lawson, a senior at Louisiana State University majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in Chinese. I am 21 years old and I was born and raised in Jefferson, Louisiana.
During my sophomore year of high school, I joined an after school journalism program because of my love for media, entertainment, and writing. Through that experience, I discovered a passion for journalism and had several of my stories published in the New Orleans Gambit as well as a few local magazine features and a Billboard cover. To this day, seeing my work on display truly never gets old.
At LSU, I have worked with student media as an entertainment reporter for LSU Reveille and a news reporter for LSU Tiger TV. Both of these experiences have allowed me to grow my print and broadcast skills.
My favorite stories to tell are stories that highlight members of the community because I believe that everyone has a story to tell and anything can be a story. After graduation, I look forward to exploring my career further and pursuing opportunities that allow me to continue amplifying diverse voices.
This portfolio showcases the work and experiences that have helped me develop my professional skills through the years. Thank you for being here!
